EALING has seen the lowest number of new coronavirus cases since September, with figures dropping for the eighth consecutive week.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 27% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of March 1 to 7, Ealing saw 249 new positive cases, compared to 342 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 27.2%, with 93 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 72.8, compared to 100.1 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 3,634 new cases during the week of March 1 to 7, which represents 40.5 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 33,521 new cases during the same week, correlating to 59.6 cases per 100,000 people.
