EALING has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases for the third consecutive week.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 27% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of May 31 to June 6, Ealing saw 209 new positive cases, compared to 164 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 27.4%, with 45 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 61.1, compared to 48.0 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across both London and England.

London as a whole had 4,618 new cases during the week of May 31 to June 6, which represents 51.5 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 30,363 new cases during the same week, correlating to 53.9 cases per 100,000 people.
