A walk from a pub to a club via an award winning Pitshanger Lane and and special garden suburb finishing at a vintage market.

About this event

Let's start from the pub named after Queen Victoria's father and walk along the pretty Pitshanger Lane lined with independent shops, restaurants and cafés talking about its not so distant rural past. We may look inside St Barnabas Church while continuing the walk through one of the first garden estates known as Brentham Village. The estate consists of streets of various shapes lined with the houses none of which is the same as others. Fred Perry, the three time Wimbledon champion in the 1930s, lived here as a young man and practised on the courts of Brentham Club. When we get to the club, we will explore the intriguing building and may even climb the tower for exciting views of the area.

Save more time than the two hours as after the walk, you can stay on to enjoy the fantastic Trash and Treasure market in the club grounds. As usual, those who wish so, are welcome to stay on at the club for a drink and maybe some market food as well?

As it's a walking tour, please make sure you wear suitable footwear and clothing. Bring water and a snack with you if you wish to sustain you during the walk.
