WORK has begun on the construction of a new multi-million pound training facility for Ealing Trailfinders.

Collinson Construction has started working on the new centre in West Ealing which will cost £3.8 million.

The new complex will span 3,184 sq metres and will feature a junior rugby and football pitch, along with three indoor cricket lanes.

It will serve both the rugby club and the cricket club as well.

The project is expected to be completed in October and will also include extra buildings for changing facilities and office spaces.

Trailfinders currently sit top of the Greene King IPA Championship table and are aiming for promotion, with the new training centre set to be ready for their first season in the Premiership – if everything goes to plan both building wise, but also results wise.

Shaun Justice, of Trailfinders, said: "Trailfinders Sports Club is hugely excited about the multi-sport indoor facility and the increased local community school and club usage it will attract on an already thriving site.

"This development will further strengthen Trailfinders Sports Club as one of the leading sports facilities in the South of England."

Robert Duxbury, managing director at Collinson Construction, said: "We're incredibly proud to have been chosen to deliver this prestigious project for Trailfinders which will deliver world class facilities to the benefit of both the club and the local community.

"We're bringing together our three construction specialisms by integrating modular, tensile and traditional building techniques to bring this high-performance project to life.

"It means we're able to tailor construction solutions to each of the training facility's buildings and meet the club's needs in the most time and cost-efficient way possible."
