WE are now in Stage 2 of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown and now could be the perfect time for you to start your job hunt.

Ealing Nub News is here to help with our Jobs section, which is full of exciting vacancies in the Ealing area.

Here is our top pick for this week, working as a Constituency Support Manager or Officer for Rupa Huq MP.

The successful candidate will be committed to helping the Ealing Central and Acton MP in pro-active project work delivering on key priorities for the constituency.

Experience of working for an MP is desirable but not essential and opportunities to develop skills in post will be supported.

The appointment as a Support Manager or Officer will be dependent on the candidate's experience.

The role will be based in Acton, but also some time in Parliament, while presently it's remote.

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish, identify, and maintain working relationships with local stakeholders, businesses, and community groups in the constituency.
  • Attend constituency events and meetings with the MP as required.
  • Oversight of constituency projects and local issues.
  • Diary management and organisation of constituency events.
  • General administrative tasks.
  • Assist with progressing enquiries from constituents on local and wider policy matters.
  • Prioritise a demanding workload to meet deadlines and with an eye for detail.
  • Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
  • Triage incoming correspondence: monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
  • Assist the MP with other duties as required.

Key Attributes:

  • Good with engaging with people and working alongside an established team.
  • Self-starter, able to organise independently and manage own workload.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
  • Knowledge of the Ealing Central and Acton constituency would be highly desirable.
  • A good grasp of current affairs and political developments would be desirable.

The role is full-time, with a yearly salary of £21,529-£39,981 based on experience.

Deadline for applications is April 18; to apply send a one-page Cover Letter, a two-page CV and a 300-word statement on the issues that will likely impact the Ealing Central and Acton constituency to [email protected] with a subject line: CONSTITUENCY SUPPORT MANAGER/OFFICER.

Interviews will take place online later this month.
