EALING will host its first family rave night this month, offering local parents and their children a chance to showcase new lockdown dance moves.

The Big Fish Little Fish (BFLF) event is coming to Ealing, a rave night for families with children of 8-years and under.

The pirate-themed event will feature DMC World Champion DJ Chad Jackson, who will cover an eclectic broad range of tunes from original acid house, techno, UK garage to disco.

Founder, Hannah Saunders, started the events eight years ago at the end of her road in Brixton, and noted children have a particularly strong response to drum and bass.

She said: "This has always amazed me, even the littlest toddlers will bounce to the base.

"We find the kids really enjoy it and they also love seeing their parents happily dancing."

Saunders, 52, is a long-time raver and created BFLF to have something to take her kids to when they were babies.

She said: "It was drawn from my experience being a parent of young kids and also my lifelong love of club culture and festivals.

"A strong aspect of rave culture has always been this sense of togetherness and support that you share with complete strangers on the dance floor.

"That's always been written like a stick of rock through Big Fish Little Fish and none more so than where we are right now, and long may it continue."

Saunders said they have many families from Ealing attend the nights, which run across the UK, and felt it was about time she brought it to them for a change.

BFLF also takes place in Ireland and even Australia, and they are regulars on the summer festival scene, including Glastonbury.

Over 300 different DJs have featured at their events throughout the years, including Basement Jaxx and old schoolers like 2 Bad Mice.

During the pandemic they moved the nights online and did free kitchen raves on social media, which attracted over a million viewers.

Saunders, who still attends all the events herself, is most excited about the potential to reach new parents.

She said: "In the last 18 months there's been a whole new audience created with brand new babies who have no idea about Big Fish Little Fish.

"So I'm very excited about getting out to them and meeting them for the first time, and for them to see there is something really fun and different you can do with your little babies, it's not all little singing groups in the library - although they're great too!"

The West 5 Bar in South Ealing will host the event with a few hundred capacity.

The event will take place on Sunday 26 September, 2 – 4pm.
