A candlelit vigil will be held on the steps of Ealing Town Hall this evening at 7 pm to remember Sabina Nessa.

The vigil, run by Cllr Dr Aysha Raza, Ealing cabinet member for Tackling Inequalities, will be to acknowledge the life of Sabina and to take a stand against violence towards women and girls.

Primary teacher Sabina Nessa, 28, was killed at about 8:30 pm last Friday during a short walk from her home to meet a friend at a pub in south-east London.

Sabina never arrived at the pub and it is suspected she was murdered as she walked through Cator Park.

Her body was found the following day.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and the Metropolitan police have released CCTV images of another man they wish to speak to.

Vigils are happening across the country this evening, with women's rights campaign group Reclaim The Streets holding one in Peglar Square, Kidbrooke Village at 7 pm.

Bring a candle to the Ealing vigil, which will take place this evening, Friday 24 September, at 7 pm on the steps of Ealing Town Hall.
