AN Ealing personal trainer has teamed up with two charities to offer free exercise classes to women aged between 16-21 in order to help them feel more empowered.

Lauren Goggs, 34, has worked in the fitness world for many years, working for the likes of Vitality and Virgin Active in their corporate departments.

For the past three years however she has switched to personal training, launching her own brand Quit The Comfort Zone .

She's now teamed up with Motiv8 Sports and Fitness to help encourage young women to exercise.

Goggs told Nub News: "Too many young women are worried about their appearance and are comparing themselves to Instagram models and influencers.

"In a lot of cases these young women stop exercising because they're self conscious about said appearance and comparisons and we want change that."

That's why Goggs started running free training sessions in Drayton Green in March.

Then the coronavirus pandemic hit and sessions had to be stopped.

"It was such a shame because we didn't really get a chance to get going properly," she added.

From this week however, classes have restarted on Zoom, with the aim of restarting in person too from January.

Classes are available on Wednesday afternoons and also on Saturday afternoons, in collaboration with another Ealing based charity, the Znaniye Foundation .

Goggs, who lives in West Ealing said: "Sport and exercise have been such an amazing part of my life that I feel like I want to give something back.

"With sport and exercise you don't have to compare yourself to others, just do it for how it makes you feel.

"During the classes we also try to incorporate boxing and some dancing too, I tell the girls, 'no one is watching you, just do whatever you want and enjoy yourself'".
