Our client is a leading Civil Engineering specialist with over 50 years' experience delivering major build and infrastructure projects. Due to the high number of bids and tenders they are receiving; they have an immediate opportunity within the Preconstruction Bid & Tendering team.
They are happy to consider applicants either from an engineering background, an experienced construction industry administrator or document controller, that are keen to move into preconstruction and that they can train and develop, or an established bid coordinator from another sector.
This role will be responsible for the coordination and development of tender documents that are clear, concise and well-structured, and managing all contributions for the tender documents and appendices, including input from the operational, commercial and preconstruction teams.
Preconstruction Assistant / Bid Coordinator roles and responsibilities:
- Liaising and coordinating with bid team members and wider company Stake Holders, to ensure that all required tender documentation is captured, and combined into a high-quality branded tender document for submittal.
- This will include, but not limited to the construction programme documents from the planning team, pricing from the commercial team and H&S documents from the H&S Manager.
- You will support the teams throughout the process, reviewing and combining all information captured and ensuring that it is in line with company branding/values, is up to date and leads to improvement in submissions, processes and systems.
- You will also conduct analysis of the proposed bid documents and assess scoring criteria, to ensure the delivery of highly competitive, concise and compelling responses.
- You will be responsible for proof reading the proposed submissions, and using your excellent literacy skills, attention to detail, and eye for design, to ensure the submissions convey a slick and professional company to the client.
Preconstruction Assistant / Bid Coordinator requirements:
- Degree or HNC/HND a construction, media design, English Language or journalistic qualification would be advantageous.
- Excellent literacy, writing and editing skills.
- Highly computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong typography and document formatting skills required.
- Well organised, diligent, self-motivated, and proactive. With the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Construction industry experience an advantage.
